Friend or "Friend" ???

If you have a Facebook page, you more than likely have one of those friends. You know the kind, they won’t return your calls, text or emails, but stays connected with your life through status updates.

It made me begin to wonder, since when did liking someone’s status on FB become an acceptable way of maintaining relationships? Or is it?

Every so often you see that they clicked that tiny “Like” link, but does this person really know what is going on in your life?

Can they truly be called a friend if they only know what you make public to everyone out there?

I also wonder, how long is too long to have no other contact with a “friend” before they are nothing more than an acquaintance?

I don’t have the answers, but I think I would like to take this opportunity to say, if you have someone out there that you haven’t talked to in a while, call them. Just to say, Hi.

I Made The CrowdBooster Team, Mom!!!

I feel like I am 13 again and just made the cheerleading team! You know what I am talking about, that tinge of excitement you get in the pit of your stomach that tells you, "You are in."

That is what it feels like checking my email and seeing that I have been invited to the beta site of CrowdBooster. It is a social medial marketing tool that allows you to see how well your twitter site is preforming. Since I manage multiple business twitter accounts, this is something that always eludes me. I am always trying to express to my clients how powerful their social networking presence is.

CrowdBooster allow me to gain deep audience insight. I can see what twitter followers are generating impressions for me. This way I can target them with rewards! I have never been able to tell my clients this before.

I am only beginning to scratch the surface of this program, but I will keep you posted on my findings.

Social Media Pays Off Big!

This has some great statistics in it. I wish I could show it to all of my social network clients. Apparently the guy who made this wrote a book called Socialnomics. Might be something I should check out and let you all know about.

JumpScan, Easy as Pie!

When I first came across JumpScan, I was confused. Sort of like the first time a teacher tried to explain pi to me.

Me in Math Class: "What??? Pi? Pie? the ratio of...what? A circle? 3.14...What?"

Me looking at JumpScan for the first time: "What??? I take a picture of what? And that lets me do what?"

But, as soon as I watched their video on youtube, I was sold on just how easy this program is.

Take a photo of your friends QR code and BAM, their info is in your phone with nothing more than the press of one button!

NetMarketWiz, What Kind Of Name Is That?

The name came to me because I was trying to think of a name that had my initials, NMW, for Nichole Michelle Wheat.

Since I consider myself a sort of internet connoisseur. I thought; NET, meaning Internet, MKT referring to how marketing classes were classified in college and wiz, because I am a wiz kid would be a good fit.

Why not, sounded good to me one night at 3am, so it came to be! Although I am not sure having wiz in your name is a good thing!
